1 lb of Lean Ground Beef
1 Cup of Chopped Onions
1 Tablespoon of Minced Garlic
2 Beef Boulion Cubes
7 Cups of Water
1 Cup of Sliced Fresh Carrots
1 Cup of Sliced Fresh Celery
1 Tablespoon of Basil
1 Bay Leaf
1 14-1/2oz Can of Whole Tomatoes
1/2 Cup uncooked Barley
2 Cups of Frozen Mixed Vegetables
It's very easy and inexpensive to make!
Brown first 3 ingredients.
Add next 8 ingredients and simmer for 1 hour.
Add Mixed Vegetables and simmer for 10 more minutes.
Makes about 12 cups of soup.
Serve it with your favorite homemade whole-grain Bread & Butter.
